"CELEBRATION"  -- Entry for CMC Challenge #67

Wow, I have my card for the CMC Challenge done ahead of time.  I guess I learned my lesson with the last one.  This card was fun and easy.  I even had the right color flowers, so just added a bit of "bling" to them.
The stamped image is "Party Hat Kiddo", a Stampendous cling
stamp, and the paper was from the Basic Grey collection "green at heart".  The Copic Sketch Markers I used included C0, E00, R20, RV63, RV66, YG13, YR04, E25, and E31.  The "bling" was from Stampin' Up.
It's a beautiful Spring day here and hope it also is where you are, so enjoy!

HOW TIME FLIES . . . . . .

I can't believe it's been almost two weeks since I posted -- the days seem to fly by.  My table at the garage sale was more than full and while I sold a good amount of "stuff", I still brought home more than I hoped to.  Some will be donated and haven't quite decided what to do with the rest -- mostly stamps.  It seems like more of the customers are interested in scrapbooking than stamping.
Spring is still "off and on" -- it's in the 60's today and it was sunny, but the clouds have moved in now.  Rain is predicted for the next couple of days and the temps are still not quite where they should be.  Color Me Creative is celebrating it's 3rd anniversay and I participated in the Blog Hop and am submitting answers to the quiz.  It's a good thing that Google exists as I needed answers to a few strange questions like where is the world's largest rubber stamp located -- Cinncinati, Ohio!  However, it's a sculpture in a park and not a real rubber stamp.  Oh well!
I wanted to enter my card
in th last CMC challenge, however I was a day late in finishing it -- like I said, time flies.  The theme was "red", so I used the color as much as possible and it's a nice bright card.  Hopefully, it will fit in with a future challenge and I can enter it then.  The theme for the current challenge is "Celebrate" and I've started working on a card already, so hopefully I'll do a little better at finishing it on time.
Until I post again --- take care and have a great day!

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY . . . .

No picture to post today as I haven't worked on any projects this week.  I've been busy trying to get ready for the garage sale at the Scrapbooking Design Studio this coming weekend.  I have a whole table to fill, so I've been sorting and pricing items that I decided I can part with.  Funny how tastes change over time, especially when you see new techniques, etc.  I did take a break for a banquet held this noon at Jumer's to honor people who have given blood the past year at the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center.  My husband is a really good guy who donates several times a year.  There were 400 plus people in attendance.  It was a nice event.  Taking a short break now, as I came down to the lower level to go through more "stuff".  Hopefully I'll have good sales results to report next week!

CHALLENGE CARD

I just finished this card that I plan on entering in the Color Me Creative Challenge which has "hair" for a theme.  The lovely image is a Stampendous cling rubber stamp which I colored with Copic Markers.  The flowers were cut from coffee filters with the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die and colored with a Copic Marker.  The stick pin in the sheer ribbon bow is by Prima.  The finished card measures 5 3/4" x 5 3/4".  To view cards entered in the challenge you may use the following link: scrapbitzcopics.ning.com

GAYLORD HAS RETURNED!

You may wonder who Gaylord is and why he deserves a headline.  Well, he's our neighborhood trumpeter swan who spends part of his time in our warm weather in and around a neighbor's pond.  He migrates to warmer temperatures in the winter (yes, even swans can be snowbirds) and yesterday was the first day I've seen him since he left late last Fall.  Except for a couple of visiting geese once in a while, he lives a pretty solitary life, as his mate died after being shot several years ago.  Irv keeps hoping he'll find another mate, but I think he prefers being a bachelor.  He's very elegant and it's really a sight to see him fly.  I guess he knew that our temperatures are getting warmer -- it's 59 degrees this afternoon and last night we even had a short thunderstorm.  It was so nice to know that it was only rain coming down and not snow.
On to my project in progress, which is now complete.  It's so nice to actually finish something once in a while.  I made a triptyche out of the three tags  shown in my last post.  They are hinged together, so they can stand and are presently on our buffet.
I embossed each tag with a different folder and then colored each tag with Ranger's Distress Ink. The Umbrella
Man was die cut, as well as the flourish and the flowers.  The
verse is:  "Life is like a rainbow,
you need both the sun and the
rain to make it's colors appear".  I was actually inspired by a similar project that I liked so much that I decided to make this one.  I hope you enjoy it as much as we are.  Have a great day!

APRIL FOOL'S DAY

It seems like Mother Nature is the one playing tricks on us because it's feeling more like Winter again today than like Spring. Here it is -- April 1st and only 32 degrees at noon.  At least it's sunny, so guess we should be happy about that.
I started a new project yesterday (Easter), and am still playing around with it.  As you can see, it's still very much a work in progress.  So far, I've only embossed and colored three tags, but hopefully by the end of the week I'll have finished it.  Just a clue -- it has something to do with Spring!
